The CHallenge

Distinctive Concrete had built a genuine reputation in the Grand Rapids market. The work spoke for itself — stamped concrete, driveways, patios, decorative flatwork done at a level that earned repeat customers and referrals. The problem was that none of that reputation was showing up online.

The website was underperforming: slow to load, not structured for search, and not converting the visitors it did receive. The Google Business Profile had minimal visibility — fewer than 100 monthly views — because it had not been properly optimised or kept active. And for the searches that should have been driving inbound work — “stamped concrete Grand Rapids,” “concrete driveway installation” — Distinctive Concrete was not ranking, which meant competitors who ranked above them were capturing the demand that should have been theirs.

Website Development

We rebuilt the website for speed, mobile usability, and conversion. The previous site was not structured to help a visitor understand what Distinctive Concrete did, feel confident in the quality of the work, or know what to do next. We added service-focused landing pages built around the specific searches the business needed to rank for, a project gallery that put the quality of the work front and centre, clearer calls to action positioned at the right moments, and trust-building proof elements throughout. Conversion rate improved from 1.2% to 7% — a 5.8x lift — meaning the traffic the site earned was turning into inquiries at a dramatically higher rate.

Google Business Profile Optimization

The GBP had fewer than 100 monthly views when the engagement started — which meant it was effectively invisible in local map results. We updated the business details and service areas, built out the services section, established a consistent schedule for photos and posts, and supported a review growth strategy that strengthened credibility signals in local search. Monthly GBP views grew from under 100 to more than 1,100 — an 11x increase that reflects the difference between a dormant profile and an actively optimised one.

SEO

We created keyword-targeted service pages around the Grand Rapids concrete searches that lead to high-value work — including “stamped concrete Grand Rapids” and “concrete driveway installation.” Title tags, heading structure, and page copy were improved throughout the site to better communicate what each page was about and who it was for. We strengthened internal linking, added schema markup for key pages, and addressed the technical performance issues that were suppressing rankings.
